Neemi Taylor was at a conference when she saw a flyer for reflexology and decided to go for a foot massage. The therapist eased tensions beyond her feet to relieve stresses throughout her body that she wasn’t even aware of, and she felt transformed. The experience was so profound that she enrolled in a yoga class to see what  the healing arts were all about. As her practice developed, she found yoga provided a natural detox from working in a stressful, often hostile environment.

Recognizing the intrinsic value of yoga as a means to create balance in her own life, she recognized an opportunity to integrate this newly discovered practice with another of her passions, the desire to serve her community. As a life-long learner her natural curiosity compelled her to master the techniques she was learning and train as a yoga instructor. She considers Arista Yoga a calling, and strives to provide her clients an environment that rejuvenates the mind, body and spirit.

Operating a business while working full time is challenging. She encourages new entrepreneurs to build a strong support system. Obstacles are inevitable and having knowledgeable mentors to help navigate complications is a valuable resource. Hard experience has taught her that she needs to be resilient, innovative and able to juggle the unexpected without it derailing her equilibrium. She gives herself permission to adjust goals, and admit that she can’t do everything on her own. As a result, she’s hired three additional instructors to work with her, and has a professional handle the books.

She knew that she wanted to locate her practice intown Rahway and with the help of two local realtors found the perfect space in The Mall at 75 E. Cherry Street. Open since 2022, Arista Yoga has grown as a fully integrated wellness resource focused on women’s health. She is thankful for the ongoing support available from the Special Improvement District and appreciates working in a community that actively supports a small company like hers to realize her business goals. Currently, friends and  family help spread the word about the business, but she knows that repeat customers are the life blood of any small operation. She is focused on expanding her grasp of effective marketing to ensure that people know where to come to feel recharged, refreshed and whole.
